"The UNC Minority Experience"Also at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NML9JEhXa6c
Minority students at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill share their thoughts about the campus environment and discuss the experiences that they have had while attending this university. It is time to have our voices heard.
Goals:
1.)Collaborate with administration in making this campus more inclusive and addressing minority issues, such as low graduation and retention rates.
2.)Change the image of minority students; although some of us play sports the vast majority of us are scholars and we want to be depicted in that manner.
3.)Increase the presence of minority faculty and staff members. There are many minority laborers but few minority professors, etc.
4.)Change the names of places on campus, such as Saunders Hall and the Silent Sam statue.
5.)Ensuring that there are equal educational opportunities out in the community so more minorities will be able to attend schools such as UNC
